System Administrator, Cloud (Renewable Contract)

A financial institution in Hong Kong seeks a System Administrator with expertise in hybrid cloud environments to support mission critical systems.

The role involves managing on‑premises infrastructure alongside cloud platforms, ensuring secure, compliant, and resilient operations.

Key responsibilities:

As a System Administrator, you will manage hybrid cloud systems, ensure security and compliance, support automation, and maintain reliable IT operations.

• Hybrid Cloud Administration: Manage and optimise Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless integration, stability, and performance
• System Operations: Administer Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, virtualisation platforms, and storage systems
• Security & Compliance: Implement security controls across hybrid infrastructure, ensuring adherence to financial regulatory requirements
• Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions across cloud and on-premises systems
• Automation & Orchestration: Develop and maintain scripts and workflows (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to improve provisioning, monitoring, and patching efficiency
• Collaboration: Work closely with application, network, and security teams to support infrastructure and financial system initiatives

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring strong hybrid cloud experience, solid security and troubleshooting skills, automation capability, disaster recovery knowledge, and effective teamwork and communication.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 5+ years’ system administration experience, including at least 2 years in hybrid cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, and on-prem/private cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack)
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, and virtualisation
• Familiar with IT governance, risk, and compliance in financial services environments
• Preferred Certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator, VMware Certified Professional
