Senior Network Engineer, Financial Services

A financial services organisation seeks a Senior Network Engineer in Hong Kong to design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises, data centre, office, and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will design, operate, and optimise enterprise networks across on-premises, APAC offices, and cloud (Azure), ensuring performance, compliance, and seamless project delivery.

  • Network Operations & Support: Design, maintain, and support enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN, data centre, and cloud networks, delivering L2/L3 support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
  • Cloud & Hybrid Networking: Design and manage Microsoft Azure networking (VNet, NSG, UDR, load balancers, ExpressRoute) and ensure secure, reliable hybrid connectivity across on-premises, cloud, and regional offices
  • Network Security & Compliance: Implement network security controls (TACACS/RADIUS, firewalls, NAC) and ensure compliance with FSI regulatory and audit requirements
  • Change, Project & Vendor Management: Execute ITIL-aligned network changes, support projects (office setup, onboarding), and coordinate with vendors and global teams for delivery and optimisation
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain network documentation, participate in governance meetings, and provide after-hours support for critical incidents and changes

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring enterprise network experience, strong Cisco and Azure expertise, and solid networking and security fundamentals.

  • Degree-qualified with 5+ years’ experience in network/system administration, preferably in banking or financial services
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Cisco (routers/switches), next-gen firewalls, and Azure network/firewall
  • Expected to be a solid tech network engineer at least in to 2 domains below:
    • Data Centre switching (core network)
    • Routing (global network and internet)
    • Firewall (Palo Alto, FortiGate)
    • Azure networking
    • Office network switches and Wifi
  • Knowledge and experience in infrastructure technologies, such as:
    • Network protocol: EIGRP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VPN (IPSec)
    • Microsoft Azure: ExpressRoute peering, Hybrid connectivity.
    • Network Monitoring tool: SevOne, Prime Infrastructure, Wireshark
    • Security: Palo Alto, FortiGate, Juniper, Zscaler
    • Microsoft M365 networking
  • ITIL familiarity, strong communication and problem-solving skills, team-oriented mindset; certifications (ITIL, Cisco, other relevant IT fields) and FSI experience are a plus
