A globally recognised logistics organisation seeks a Data Engineer (Databricks) to design and optimise data pipelines supporting its data infrastructure and digital transformation in Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer (Databricks), you will design cloud-based data solutions, support digital transformation and enabling reliable, high-quality data services across the business.

• Plan, implement, and maintain the company’s data platform and solutions
• Design, build, and automate scalable data pipelines and real-time data streams
• Develop and maintain robust data models and schemas to support integration and analytics
• Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes to ensure high performance and efficiency across the data lifecycle
• Collaborate with data analysts, data stewards, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Evaluate and assess data tools and technologies to ensure alignment with business and user needs

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring strong enterprise data engineering experience, advanced SQL and big data skills, Azure Databricks or Synapse expertise, and a collaborative, adaptable mindset.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 4–8 years’ data engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in SQL (a must) and hands-on experience with programming languages such as PySpark, Python, R, Java, or Scala
• Solid experience with Azure Databricks or Synapse; Azure Data Engineer Associate certification is an advantage
• Proven experience designing and deploying cloud-based data solutions on Azure
• Strong problem-solving, communication (English fluency), and collaboration skills, with a proactive, adaptable mindset and willingness to travel as needed
