Director AI Architect

A leading organisation in Hong Kong is seeking a Director Artificial Intelligence Architect to lead the development and execution of AI architecture strategies, roadmaps, and priorities. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of AI across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities:

As Director Artificial Intelligence Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s AI strategy while fostering collaboration and innovation.

• Develop scalable AI architecture roadmaps aligned with business objectives and cost-effectiveness
• Engage senior stakeholders to identify impactful use cases for AI platforms that deliver measurable results
• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and business users to deliver data-driven solutions while ensuring progress monitoring
• Oversee resource planning, including training programmes and talent development initiatives, to build a high-performing team culture
• Ensure robust security, governance, and monitoring processes are embedded into all AI solutions

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate brings extensive leadership experience in technology roles, with a proven track record of delivering innovative AI solutions while fostering team growth.

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines is required; professional certifications are preferred
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in technology roles, including 4+ years at a managerial level
• Strong expertise in at least two domains: AI engineering, application development, or data engineering:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI): Experience with AI engineering on platforms like Azure/OpenAI, Huawei AI, or Alibaba AI, including GenAI stacks and open-source tools. Knowledge of AI components such as orchestration, monitoring, governance, model layers, and UI/interaction, with exposure to model fine-tuning and feedback loops preferred
2. Application Development: Experience in at least two areas—backend (Python, Java), frontend/UI (Node.js, React), DevSecOps (Azure DevOps), or data handling (Python, SQL). Able to build prototypes and mentor junior developers
3. Data Engineering: Experience building scalable AI/data platforms using tools like Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, and Snowflake. Strong skills in Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), with knowledge of ML feature stores and vector databases

• Strong stakeholder management with proficiency in both English and Chinese communication and written skills
