APAC Sales Manager - OEM/ Mechanical
A leading global provider of industrial and commercial fire protection solutions is seeking a Sales and Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Asia Pacific region.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming sales opportunities within the Asia Pacific region, establishing professional relationships with customers and understanding their unique requirements.
- Engage independently with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, and new business prospects to identify growth opportunities and expand market presence.
- Plan and execute regular customer visits across key territories, providing detailed reports on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product development strategies.
- Identify new product application opportunities by managing customer sampling processes, overseeing qualification procedures, negotiating pricing agreements, and securing new business contracts.
- Monitor key account forecasts, open orders, and emerging product demand to ensure timely delivery performance while expediting orders when necessary to meet client expectations.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with both existing and prospective customers by responding promptly to evolving market needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Analyse regional sales and marketing data to optimise performance metrics, improve profitability margins, and achieve defined business objectives.
- Represent the organisation in a professional manner at all times to uphold its positive reputation within the industry and foster long-term partnerships.
- Achieve annual sales targets by effectively managing a diverse portfolio of customers across various sectors within the Asia Pacific region.
- Lead pricing discussions and negotiation sessions with key clients while maintaining accurate records of sales pipeline activity to support resource planning.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical discipline is required; advanced qualifications are advantageous for deeper technical engagement.
- At least five years’ experience in sales roles focused on commercial or industrial technical products demonstrates your capability in complex environments.
- Eligibility to travel internationally—including frequent trips within Asia Pacific as well as occasional visits to the United States—is essential for effective territory management.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable for engaging with local stakeholders across diverse markets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills enable you to deliver impactful presentations and develop clear technical documentation for varied audiences.
- Proven experience managing OEM sales cycles equips you with insight into long-term partnership building within specialised industries.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ensures efficient reporting and presentation preparation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or JD Edwards allows seamless integration into established operational workflows.
- Experience working within ISO 9000 or similar quality management environments highlights your commitment to compliance and process excellence.
