Head of HR

Save job

We are supporting a leading organisation to find a dynamic and forward‑thinking Head of HR to shape its people strategy and drive HR transformation. We’re looking for someone who brings energy, adaptability, and a modern HR mindset — a leader who can build an engaging culture, elevate talent strategy, and partner closely with senior management to drive organisational growth.

About the Company

Our client is a long‑established industry leader with a strong market presence and a proud operating history. As part of its next phase of growth, the organization is undergoing a significant transformation to modernize its operations, strengthen capabilities, and build a future‑ready workforce.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of human resources functions across the organization. Reporting directly to the COO, the Head of HR will act as a trusted business partner to senior management, driving people strategies that support business transformation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
The role requires a hands‑on, all‑round HR generalist with strong leadership capability, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with day‑to‑day operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership

  • Partner closely with the COO and senior leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives and transformation initiatives
  • Provide strategic advice on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Lead cultural and change management initiatives to support business transformation
  • Build a high‑performance, engaged, and values‑driven organizational culture

HR Operations & Governance

  • Oversee all core HR functions, including recruitment, compensation & benefits, performance management, learning & development, employee relations, and HR operations
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with local labour laws and regulatory requirements
  • Review, enhance, and standardize HR processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience
  • Manage HR budgets, vendors, and external consultants as required

Talent & Performance

  • Lead end‑to‑end talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain high‑quality talent
  • Drive performance management frameworks and ensure effective goal‑setting, appraisal, and feedback processes
  • Identify critical talent and develop retention, development, and succession plans

Employee Relations & Advisory

  • Act as a key advisor to management on employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and timely handling of employee issues
  • Foster positive employee engagement and communication across the organization

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR team, ensuring high standards of professionalism and service delivery
  • Build HR capabilities to support a more modern, agile, and business‑partnering function

The Successful Candidate

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, with proven exposure in a senior HR leadership role
  • Strong all‑round HR generalist background, ideally gained in complex or transforming organizations
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and operating at a strategic level

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into people solutions
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands‑on, pragmatic, and solutions‑oriented approach
  • Excellent knowledge of Hong Kong employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Strong communication skills in English (Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an advantage)
