An asset management firm seeks a Client Service Manager in Hong Kong to lead Asia-wide distribution operations, enhance client experience, and drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

As a Client Service Manager, you will oversee client servicing, ensure compliance, lead your team, manage escalations, and drive process improvements.

  • BAU ownership and client change: Primary operational ownership for onboarding, OCDD, and client change activities, including daily prioritisation, escalation management, and oversight of fund/mandate transitions, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance
  • Contracts governance: End-to-end responsibility for onboarding documentation, AML/KYC, OCDD, and TA transitions, ensuring accuracy of client agreements and oversight of service obligations across providers and platforms
  • Client centricity: Deliver strong client experience, embed a client-first mindset through coaching, act on feedback, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring proper risk management and remediation of issues
  • Risk management and continuous improvement: Maintain effective controls, own operational risk events and remediation, analyse management information, and lead operational and client change forums to improve processes
  • Leadership and people management: Lead and develop Asia-based team members, strengthen capability through coaching, and build team resilience, succession, and capacity

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring experience in regulated asset management, AML/KYC onboarding expertise, knowledge of Hong Kong fund structures, strong analytical skills, and a client-focused mindset.

  • Proven 7+ years’ experience owning BAU delivery in regulated client implementation/operations environments (SFC Type 1 licence advantageous), acting as day-to-day operational lead under pressure
  • Strong line management experience with accountability for team performance, delivery standards, and capacity planning
  • Hands-on expertise across the full client lifecycle, including onboarding, OCDD, AML/KYC, and client change execution
  • Working knowledge of HKUT and/or offshore fund structures (e.g., VCC, Irish-domiciled funds) and distributor/platform operating models, with ability to manage risk, controls, and remediation
  • Credible senior escalation point with a track record of driving BAU improvements through process simplification and control enhancements
