A financial institution seeks a Cyber Security Associate to analyse internal system logs and respond to Security Operations Centre.

Key responsibilities:

As a Cyber Security Associate, you will monitor threats, respond to incidents, manage vulnerabilities, enforce controls, and drive cyber awareness across the organisation.

  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Conduct security assessments, ensure compliance, and manage access controls with system log reviews
  • Investigate security incidents and analyse cyber threat intelligence
  • Liaise with IT vendors and partners on security matters and risk management
  • Deliver security awareness training programs and track effectiveness while staying updated on emerging threats

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring hands-on cyber security operations experience, strong knowledge of threats and controls, and proficiency in frameworks, tools, and incident response.

  • Diploma or degree holder with at least 2 years’ experience in IT/network security, ideally in banking, securities, or SOC environments
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM or HKMA ECF Cybersecurity (Practitioner level) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of network and application security, including IAM, DLP, vulnerability management, and encryption
  • Familiarity with Windows, Unix/Linux systems and security tools (firewall, IDS/IPS, WAF, DDoS, VPN, endpoint protection, SIEM)
  • Self-motivated team player with strong reliability, maturity, and awareness of evolving cyber threats
