Application Support Engineer (Cloud/API) - Contract

A global technology organisation seeks an Application Support Engineer (Cloud & API) to ensure reliable cloud application and API operations, driving system stability and continuous service improvement in Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of cloud applications and API services.

• Own L1–L3 support for cloud applications and API services, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted operations
• Lead the resolution of production incidents, API failures, and integration issues to minimise downtime and maintain service quality
• Monitor system performance and operational metrics, proactively identifying risks and improving platform stability
• Drive root cause analysis and implement lasting solutions across cloud, API, and middleware environments
• Support CI/CD deployments while delivering enhancements and fixes that improve performance, scalability, and user experience

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring hands-on experience supporting cloud-based applications and APIs, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach to delivering reliable technology solutions.

• 2+ years’ experience in application support, production support, or a related technology role
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and supporting cloud-based applications
• Exposure to API integrations, middleware technologies, and enterprise application environments
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools, deployment processes, and modern software delivery practices
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; experience with Node.js, React, or Next.js is an advantage
