RAD Developer (Investment Bank, 1-year renewable contract)

A leading investment bank in Hong Kong is seeking a Rapid Application Development Developer to join its technology team on a one-year renewable contract.

You will work at the core of financial technology, supporting Equity Traders and Sales teams with scalable, high-performance solutions across frontend and backend systems.

Key responsibilities:

Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and C#
• Develop responsive front-end applications using React.js and JavaScript
• Build and integrate web service APIs to ensure seamless system connectivity

Cloud & Containerisation

• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Use Docker and Kubernetes to enable scalable and efficient containerised deployments

CI/CD Integration

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible to streamline delivery processes

Financial Domain Expertise

• Work closely with Equity Traders and Sales teams to gather and refine business requirements
• Apply knowledge of financial instruments including equities, indices, options, futures, swaps, and bonds to develop effective solutions

Technical Translation & Modernisation

• Convert legacy Excel/VBA models into modern, scalable technology solutions
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and enhance code quality

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Python and C# for backend development
• Advanced proficiency in React.js and JavaScript for front-end development
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible
• Experience with container orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes
• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, for application deployment and management
• Basic understanding of financial instruments such as stocks, indices, options, futures, swaps, and bonds, with the ability to support trading-related solutions
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Equity Traders, Sales teams, and non-technical audiences
