Senior Officer - Data Centre/IT Operations (Contract, No Shift)

A leading financial services organisation in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Officer, Data Centre and IT Operations, to support the stability, performance, and resilience of critical technology infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to oversee enterprise infrastructure environments, manage operational governance, and collaborate with key stakeholders in a stable, day-shift environment. Ideal for experienced IT infrastructure professionals, this position combines technical expertise, operational oversight, and continuous improvement within a highly respected institution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee data centre-related IT operations (compute, storage, network, platforms) to ensure high availability and performance
  • Act as escalation point for major incidents; drive root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation actions
  • Govern incident, problem, and change management processes aligned with ITIL best practices
  • Review and approve infrastructure changes, ensuring proper risk assessment and minimal business impact
  • Monitor service performance and define operational KPIs (e.g., uptime, MTTR, SLA adherence)
  • Manage and hold vendors (colocation, managed services, cloud providers) accountable for service delivery and SLAs
  • Oversee capacity planning and performance optimisation across infrastructure environments
  • Ensure operational resilience, including disaster recovery (DR) readiness and testing

Candidate profile:

  • Higher Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure / data centre / IT operations environments
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise infrastructure (servers, storage, network, virtualisation)
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Proven experience in incident, problem, and change management (ITIL-aligned)
  • Experience managing vendors and service providers with SLA accountability
  • Familiarity with monitoring and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Dynatrace, SolarWinds)
  • Strong understanding of operational resilience, DR, and high-availability design
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • ITIL certification or equivalent preferred
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
