Head of Infrastructure (90-95k)

An organisation seeks a Head of Infrastructure to lead IT strategy, operations, and scalable secure solutions, managing teams and vendors to drive business growth and efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

As Head of Infrastructure, you will oversee IT strategy, infrastructure, cloud, projects, cybersecurity, and vendors to align technology with business goals.

• Strategic IT Planning and Budgeting: Develop IT roadmap aligned to business goals, manage budgets, licensing, procurement, and vendors, and drive efficiency-focused technology improvements
• IT Operations (BAU): Ensure stable, secure IT operations across infrastructure, cloud, M365, SaaS, and networks, maintaining availability, DR, assets, and governance standards
• IT Projects & Systems Delivery: Lead IT projects from upgrades to cloud adoption, translating requirements into solutions and managing timelines, risks, budgets, and vendors
• Infrastructure & Application Management: Oversee lifecycle of infrastructure and applications, ensuring scalable, cost-effective systems and seamless integrations
• Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Implement robust security controls, ensure compliance, and strengthen cybersecurity posture across the organisation
• Vendor & Outsourcing Management: Manage IT vendors, SLAs, performance, costs, and escalations
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate IT strategy, risks, and investments to senior stakeholders in clear business terms

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring infrastructure leadership experience, expertise across cloud and core IT systems, cybersecurity and vendor management capability, and strong stakeholder communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline
• 15+ years’ IT and project management experience, including 6+ years in a managerial role
• Strong hands-on experience in IT operations (BAU), project delivery, and infrastructure (on-prem/cloud)
• Proven expertise in cybersecurity, system integration, business applications, and vendor management
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills with ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution in a medium enterprise environment
