This is an exceptional opportunity for you to leverage your extensive IT infrastructure expertise within a highly regulated environment, where your ability to manage complex technical projects on a worldwide scale will be highly valued. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of critical infrastructure initiatives, working closely with subject matter experts across information security, engineering, and support teams.

What you'll do:

As Vice President of Infrastructure Projects and Operations, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full lifecycle of global IT infrastructure initiatives. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that meet stringent regulatory requirements while supporting business objectives. You will be instrumental in shaping policy frameworks, managing change advisory processes, and ensuring that all aspects of the organisation’s technology landscape—from cloud platforms to on-premises systems—are maintained at peak performance. Your ability to communicate clearly at all levels will enable you to provide insightful reporting to senior management while fostering an inclusive environment where knowledge sharing is encouraged. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also a genuine commitment to nurturing team cohesion and upholding the highest standards of operational integrity.

  • Coordinate global IT infrastructure projects by collaborating with subject matter experts in information security, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure optimal resource allocation and project prioritisation.
  • Provide comprehensive status updates on all ongoing projects to IT management, meticulously tracking progress against defined scope, budget, and schedule parameters.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical resource during infrastructure project delivery phases, identifying when specialist engineering expertise is required for successful execution.
  • Work closely with the end user computing team to facilitate controlled rollouts of new technology solutions to business users while minimising disruptions.
  • Offer informed recommendations regarding project reprioritisation in response to evolving business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain and regularly update all IT infrastructure policies and procedures so they remain aligned with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), including defining the business criticality of all systems and infrastructure components.
  • Lead weekly Infrastructure Change Advisory Board meetings, ensuring change management processes adhere strictly to ITIL best practices.
  • Identify critical infrastructure vendors and maintain a structured schedule of service review meetings to ensure consistent performance standards are met.
  • Take ownership of IT infrastructure elements during audits, ensuring all requirements are addressed efficiently and effectively.

What you bring:

To excel as Vice President of Infrastructure Projects and Operations, you will bring an impressive background in large-scale technology environments within regulated sectors such as financial services. Your expertise spans both traditional on-premises systems and modern cloud platforms; you have demonstrated your ability to implement robust controls aligned with industry frameworks like ITIL or ISO27001. Your interpersonal strengths shine through in your capacity for empathetic team management—especially when coordinating efforts across borders—and your commitment to open communication fosters trust throughout the organisation. You possess advanced analytical capabilities for producing actionable insights from complex data sets using tools like Excel or PowerPoint. Above all else, your dedication to maintaining operational excellence through careful planning, policy adherence, and responsive problem resolution sets you apart as an invaluable asset.

  • At least ten years’ experience working within technology teams in financial services or similarly regulated industries, demonstrating deep familiarity with compliance-driven environments.
  • A minimum of five years’ hands-on experience managing both on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructures across networking (routing and switching), server administration (Windows/Linux), VMware administration, SQL database management, Active Directory/Entra ID design and operations, M365/Azure (preferably AWS), datacentre operations, and related domains.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, ISO27001, NIST or equivalent standards, enabling effective policy development and audit readiness.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for preparing detailed technical management reports tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated success managing project teams distributed across multiple geographic locations while fostering collaboration and shared accountability.
  • Experience developing data handling procedures that comply fully with legal requirements and industry regulations.
  • Exceptional people management abilities with a proven track record of guiding remote teams towards shared goals through supportive leadership.
  • A calm approach under pressure combined with excellent problem-solving skills that enable you to navigate challenging situations thoughtfully.
  • Highly organised work habits paired with meticulous attention to detail that ensures deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.
  • Outstanding communication skills that allow you to engage effectively at all organisational levels while promoting transparency.
