Datacentre Manager (Service Management)
This position offers a unique blend of technical oversight, team mentorship, and customer engagement, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor an operation team by providing guidance, support, and regular feedback to ensure high performance and adherence to established best practices.
- Oversee the daily operations and monitoring of multiple datacentres located in Hong Kong, ensuring all systems function optimally and efficiently.
- Conduct routine analysis of datacentre environments by evaluating infrastructure health and identifying areas for improvement or optimisation.
- Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering expert recommendations tailored to client needs.
- Ensure strict compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) by monitoring performance metrics and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Handle ad-hoc projects as required by collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver timely solutions that align with organisational goals.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation related to datacentre processes, procedures, and incident reports for transparency and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors regarding maintenance schedules, equipment upgrades, or facility enhancements to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and efficiency within the team by encouraging open communication and shared responsibility for outcomes.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a closely related discipline is required for this position.
- At least 5 years of experience working within Telco or ICT companies is essential, including a minimum of 2 years spent in a supervisory capacity overseeing technical teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of data centre operations encompassing cabling management and facilities oversight is vital for success in this role.
- Familiarity with data centre accessories such as server racks and power distribution units (PDUs), as well as TCP/IP services like DNS, Mail, and LDAP is highly valued.
- Professional certifications related to data centre management are considered advantageous but not mandatory.
- An analytical mindset combined with excellent interpersonal skills enables effective problem-solving while nurturing positive relationships within the team.
- The ability to perform under pressure ensures consistent delivery even during challenging situations or unexpected incidents.
- Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin—both spoken and written—is required due to the multilingual nature of the workplace environment.
