Business Analyst, Post Trade System (FS Contract)

A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Business Analyst to join its Post-Trade Operations team on a contract basis.

This position offers the opportunity to support key platform enhancement projects aligned with strategic business initiatives. The role is offered on a renewable contract basis, with the possibility of permanent employment for high-performing individuals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements in collaboration with stakeholders and end-users
  • Work closely with IT teams and external vendors to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
  • Review system specifications to ensure alignment with functional and non-functional requirements and maintain end-to-end traceability
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements and system documentation
  • Utilise automation tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and accuracy where applicable
  • Execute and monitor test activities, document results, and maintain detailed records of testing issues and outcomes
  • Manage UAT issue logs, coordinate defect resolution with IT teams, and oversee retesting activities
  • Support successful project delivery by ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations

Candidate profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the financial services sector
  • Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English is required
  • Knowledge of OTC products and post-trade workflows is highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and VBA; knowledge of Python, SQL, or other programming languages is a plus
  • Proactive team player with strong stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to take ownership of deliverables
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt communication styles, and manage multiple priorities effectively
