Head of Tech & Ops Risk ( 120 - 130k p/month )

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an accomplished professional to join a leading financial services organisation in Hong Kong as the Head of Technology and Operations Risk.

Responsibilities :

• Define, review, and maintain enterprise risk management policies and procedures for both the company and its subsidiaries, adapting them as necessary to meet evolving business needs.
• Oversee the development of risk assessment methodologies tailored to different business units, ensuring consistency and thoroughness across all areas.
• Provide expert advice and support to business units in developing and implementing robust internal control measures that address technological, operational, financial, legal, compliance, business continuity, third-party, data privacy, reputational risks, and more.
• Centralise risk management monitoring processes to create a unified approach covering all aspects of organisational risk.
• Lead efforts to strengthen cyber resilience posture by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Participate actively in business strategy discussions as well as new projects or initiatives by offering insights from a risk and control perspective.
• Report comprehensively on all risk management activities and exposures to senior management, the Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies as required.
• Support the Chief Risk Officer in preparing reports for internal stakeholders such as the Board and Risk Management Committee as well as external parties including auditors and regulators.

requirements :

• A university degree preferably majoring in business studies, risk management, information technology or related disciplines is essential for this position.
• At least 15 years’ experience in risk management within major financial institutions is required along with a minimum of 8 years at managerial level overseeing diverse teams.
• Demonstrated expertise across various aspects of risk management including but not limited to technology risk (especially cybersecurity), operational risk frameworks, financial sector services/operations is highly valued.
• Comprehensive understanding of global/local regulatory requirements relevant to enterprise-level risk management strategies/policies/frameworks is expected.
• Exceptional analytical abilities combined with strong interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration across departments.
• Proven track record in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders within regulated environments is advantageous.
• Excellent command of written/spoken English & Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua would be considered an asset for this role.
