As an Application Architecture Manager based in Hong Kong, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your ability to research emerging technologies will shape the direction of application development across multiple countries. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with diverse teams to identify opportunities for technological advancement while providing hands-on support for complex technical issues.
- Research and analyse the latest trends in industry technology, identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions that align with organisational goals.
- Lead research and development activities focused on enhancing development practices, evaluating new technologies, exploring market innovations, conducting thorough testing, and presenting well-founded recommendations.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions to upskill country development teams on new tools, methodologies, and best practices, fostering continuous learning across the group.
- Provide expert technical support to country development teams by addressing queries related to development practices, technology adoption, and tool utilisation.
- Collaborate closely with international teams to resolve complex challenges encountered during application development projects, ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Oversee the planning, management, design, and hands-on development of applications for the group, ensuring all projects meet high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure alignment with business objectives while maintaining open channels of communication for effective problem-solving.
- Monitor project progress by establishing clear milestones and deliverables, proactively identifying potential risks or bottlenecks and implementing timely solutions.
- Champion the adoption of Microsoft technology stack within application development processes by sharing expertise and providing guidance on best practices.
- Contribute to the creation of documentation that supports knowledge sharing across teams, promoting consistency in application architecture standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a closely related discipline is required for this position as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for success.
- A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in application development demonstrates your proven track record in managing complex projects from inception through completion.
- Comprehensive understanding of application development practices ensures you can implement industry standards effectively across diverse teams.
- Expertise in utilising Microsoft technology stack—including but not limited to .NET frameworks—enables you to guide others in adopting these tools efficiently.
- Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese allows you to communicate seamlessly with multinational teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research into new technologies equips you with the skills needed to keep the organisation at the forefront of innovation.
- Experience delivering engaging training sessions highlights your capacity for nurturing talent within collaborative environments.
