Data Analyst (Python, PySpark, 6 months contract)

A financial institution in Hong Kong seeks a Data Analyst to support data migration, automation, and analytics initiatives using Python and PySpark while driving data quality and business insights.

Key responsibilities:

AC2OC Transition & Historical Data Support

• Partner with business, technology, and vendors to support AC2OC transition activities and backlog remediation
• Manage IBM queries and backlog script requests
• Prepare and transform historical data to align with OC schemas and partitioning standards

AC Platform Support

• Support migration from ExpressBatch (EB) to Container-Based Deployment (CBD), including user enablement and change management
• Promote DeployBuddy adoption by coordinating issue resolution and stakeholder support.

OC Script Standardisation

• Enhance existing OC scripts to comply with deployment standards
• Implement backdate functionality, ED table integration, Airflow business-date variables, and standardised partition keys

GCP Migration & Automation

• Support GCP migration automation initiatives, including Python upgrade automation
• Enable data replication from on-premises S3 to GCP cloud storage
• Automate configuration and path updates to streamline migrations
• Assist users with Jupyter notebook adoption, data validation, and job scheduling

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years’ experience in Data Analytics or a similar role
• Strong programming skills in Python and PySpark; exposure to GCP and cloud technologies is an advantage
• Proven ability to process, analyse, and interpret large and complex datasets
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience identifying issues and delivering effective solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; financial services industry experience is preferred
