Data Scientist GenAI, Global Markets

A global financial institution seeks a Data Scientist specialising in Generative AI to join its Global Markets team in Hong Kong to develop scalable, secure AI solutions.

Key responsibilities:

As a Data Scientist, you will build and deploy secure AI solutions, apply MLOps practices, and collaborate to align AI initiatives with business goals.

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and translate requirements into data-driven solutions
• Evaluate feasibility, risks, and business value of AI initiatives, including proof-of-concept development
• Design, build, and deploy machine learning and Generative AI models across multiple use cases
• Contribute to enterprise AI initiatives and support the development of the organisation’s data science ecosystem
• Research emerging AI technologies and industry best practices to inform AI strategy and innovation
• Support AI governance, risk, and compliance frameworks to ensure responsible and secure AI adoption
• Prepare clear reports, insights, and presentations for stakeholders across all levels

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring strong AI/ML and software engineering expertise, proficiency in Python/Java, LLM workflows, APIs, databases, AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock), Docker, Kubernetes, and MLOps, with strong collaboration skills and a continuous learning mindset.

• Bachelor’s degree or above in AI, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
• 5–12 years’ experience in AI/ML or related roles
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and Generative AI
• Proficiency in Python and common AI/ML frameworks and tools
• Experience in banking, financial services, or fintech is highly preferred
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau) is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills
• Fluent in English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
