AI Engineer Tech Lead

A global financial services organisation seeks an AI Engineer Technical Lead to design, develop and deploy scalable, secure AI solutions and lead AI initiatives in Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities:

As an AI Engineer Technical Lead, you will define AI direction, set standards, guide architecture and delivery, ensure compliance, and drive collaboration and continuous improvement.

Technical Leadership

• Define AI/ML standards, design patterns, and best practices
• Act as SME in AI/ML and Generative AI
• Guide architecture, code reviews, and solution validation
• Ensure compliance with architecture, security, and regulatory standards

Solution Delivery

• Lead end-to-end AI delivery from design to deployment and optimisation
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams on requirements and dependencies
• Ensure quality, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of solutions
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks

Knowledge Management

• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge bases
• Drive knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
• Collect feedback to support enhancements and future development

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring strong software engineering and AI/ML expertise, experience in Python/Java, LLMs, cloud (AWS), APIs, databases, Docker/Kubernetes, MLOps, and collaboration skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 8+ years’ software engineering experience, incl. 2+ years in AI/ML
• Strong Python and Java programming skills
• Experience with REST APIs (FastAPI/Flask) and system integration
• Knowledge of LLMs, orchestration tools (LangChain/LangGraph/n8n), and MLOps
• Experience with AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock), Docker, and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB) and strong English/Chinese communication skills
