Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives (Media)

Our client is a reputable organization and they are now seeking a Project Manager to directly support the business head. This is a highly strategic role positioned at the intersection of media, business development, and project management. The successful candidate will drive execution on large-scale special projects, tracking high-level commercial and institutional leads, and ensuring seamless cross-departmental coordination between HK and China markets.

Key Responsibilties:

  • Orchestrate, follow up, and execute major special initiatives, flagship events, and cross-border commercial/ editorial projects
  • Track project milestones, coordinate resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of high-stakes initiatives under tight deadlines
  • Synthesize complex discussions, briefs, and meetings into actionable project frameworks and execution plans
  • Act as the primary bridge between the management office and the commercial/advertising sales teams
  • Systematically follow up on high-profile business, institutional, and advertising leads generated by business head
  • Facilitate high-level communications and maintain relationships with corporate leaders, government bodies, think tanks, and political stakeholders in both Hong Kong and Mainland China
  • Attend critical business meetings, high-level forums, and cross-border delegations, ensuring proactive pre-and-post-meeting follow-through

Requirement:

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of professional experience in top-tier media houses, public relations, management consulting, or corporate affairs, with a proven track record in project management.
  • Deep cultural, commercial, and political literacy in both Hong Kong and Mainland China markets. Native or near-native familiarity with Mainland business practices and the geopolitical landscape is highly favorable
  • Prior exposure to government relations (GR), public sector entities, or connections within political/diplomatic circles in HK/Mainland China is strongly preferred
  • Highly digitally-savvy, understand current trends in media transformation, digital publishing, and modern communication platforms
  • Fluent command in Mandarin, English and Cantonese
