They operate in a fast-paced, highly competitive market and are committed to driving growth through innovation, superior distribution, and excellent in-market execution.

Role Overview

My client is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Director to lead their full sales operations in Hong Kong. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and delivering commercial excellence across all channels in one of Asia’s most competitive FMCG markets. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing sales team and build strong partnerships with key retailers and distributors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual revenue, profit, and market share targets for Hong Kong (and potentially Macau).
  • Lead performance across all key channels: Modern Trade, Traditional Trade, Convenience Stores, E-commerce, Foodservice/HoReCa, and emerging channels.
  • Manage and grow relationships with major key accounts and distributors; negotiate trade terms, promotions, and partnerships to maximize visibility and sell-through.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, setting clear KPIs and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Oversee pricing, promotional planning, trade spend optimization, forecasting, and commercial ROI.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to provide strategic insights for business planning and product launches.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment.
  • Drive excellent in-store execution, merchandising standards, and distributor performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the FMCG sector, ideally in food, beverages, or snacks.
  • Proven track record as a Sales Director or Senior Sales Leader in Hong Kong, with strong experience managing key accounts (Modern Trade and Traditional Trade).
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and leading high-performing sales teams in a competitive environment.
  • Deep understanding of the Hong Kong FMCG retail landscape, channel dynamics, and trade marketing.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proficient in CRM systems, sales data analytics, and Microsoft Office.
