Senior Merchandiser - SDA

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Merchandiser to join their dynamic team in Hong Kong. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily merchandising operations, conduct market research, and develop innovative sourcing strategies. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with a diverse range of small kitchen appliances, fostering positive working relationships and providing leadership to strengthen the team.

What you'll do:

• Oversee daily merchandising operations, including costing, product development, and mass production follow-up.
• Conduct market research and generate ideas for product line-ups.
• Develop seasonal sourcing strategies.
• Stay informed about market trends and technological advancements.
• Foster positive working relationships and provide leadership to strengthen the team.
• Identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Guide the team to ensure customer satisfaction through systematic follow-ups at each production stage and timely order execution.
• Collaborate proactively with the merchandising team, factories, and technical teams to guarantee quality in delivered kitchen appliances.
• Build customer relationships at various production levels and analyse costs and margins to meet budget expectations.
• Manage raw material planning in coordination with suppliers and major components.

What you bring:

• Around 5-7 years experience with small kitchen appliance products.
• Strong expertise in sourcing, procurement, and market analysis.
• Comprehensive knowledge of product development and production processes.
• Established network of vendor partnerships.
• Experience in the US and European markets.
• Self-motivated team player with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple products simultaneously.
• Passionate with the ability to work independently.
• Strong commercial acumen and fluency in both Chinese and English.
• Willingness to travel frequently to China.
