Regulatory Compliance, VP - Corporate Bank

A leading corporate bank seeks a Vice President, Regulatory Compliance in Hong Kong to drive regulatory governance and compliance excellence, safeguarding organisational integrity and stakeholder trust.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead institutional and individual licensing activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely regulatory approvals
• Monitor regulatory developments and strengthen compliance frameworks to manage evolving obligations and mitigate regulatory risk
• Partner with compliance advisors and business stakeholders to implement regulatory requirements and enhance governance across the organisation
• Prepare and present regulatory, compliance, and governance reports, providing insights and recommendations to support senior management decision-making
• Identify, assess, and escalate regulatory and compliance risks, recommending practical solutions and action plans to strengthen risk management
• Lead regional and global compliance initiatives in collaboration with Head Office, Regional Office, and group entities to ensure consistent regulatory standards and best practices
• Foster a strong culture of compliance by delivering regulatory guidance and training while mentoring junior team members to support capability development

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, with at least 10 years' compliance experience within the banking industry
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong banking regulations, with proven experience engaging directly with regulators and managing regulatory licensing and compliance matters
• Experience leading compliance initiatives within a corporate banking environment, including regional or global projects
• Strong business acumen with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders and mentoring junior team members
