A financial institution in Hong Kong seeks a Paralegal professional.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, Asia this role is responsible for providing general legal services and support to Regional Offices and to provide support on other initiatives as assigned by the Head of Legal and other team members.

Key responsibilities:

As a Paralegal professional, you will support legal operations, contract reviews, corporate governance, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives across regional jurisdictions.

Company Secretarial

  • Support corporate secretarial activities for the Asia Regional Office and affiliated offices across the region
  • Liaise with the Enterprise Corporate Secretary’s Department and local company secretaries on corporate updates, governance matters, and ad hoc enquiries
  • Maintain and update regional organisational charts, board compositions, and committee membership records

Commercial and Other Legal Services

  • Assist in reviewing intercompany agreements and commercial contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements, and related legal documentation
  • Conduct legal research, regulatory analysis, and document reviews to support business and legal initiatives
  • Provide broader legal and operational support on projects assigned by the Head of Legal and wider legal team

Corporate Governance

  • Support governance and approval processes for new or revised operating guidelines across regional offices
  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and tracking policy approvals and governance documentation to ensure compliance and consistency

Digital Transformation

  • Maintain and manage legal records and documentation across internal digital platforms such as SharePoint, Legal Tracker, iManage, and Kanban systems
  • Support digitalisation initiatives and the wider adoption of GenAI tools to enhance legal operations and team efficiency

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring experience in legal, insurance, or financial services environments with strengths in contract review, corporate governance, regulatory research, and digital transformation initiatives.

  • At least 2–3 years' relevant legal experience gained in-house or within a law firm environment
  • Degree in Law (LL.B, BA in Law, or equivalent qualification)
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, contractual concepts, and legal document review within a business setting
  • Experience or interest in company secretarial, corporate governance, and insurance-related matters
  • Proven legal research and regulatory analysis skills within fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Interest in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and evolving industry trends; Chinese language skills are advantageous
