An exciting opportunity has arisen for a KYC and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance to join a leading financial services organisation in Hong Kong.

Reporting directly to the Head of Risk Control, this role offers exposure to both local and international regulatory environments, allowing you to enhance your expertise in compliance, risk management, and business continuity.

Key responsibilities:

As a KYC and AML Compliance Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local and international regulations while supporting the company’s broader risk management framework.

  • KYC & Due Diligence: Design, execute, and supervise KYC/CDD processes, including customer identification, beneficial ownership verification, and risk rating in line with regulatory standards
  • Regulatory Compliance Support: Provide compliance guidance to support sales, marketing, and product development across Hong Kong and other jurisdictions
  • Framework & Controls Enhancement: Strengthen compliance frameworks by drafting policies, implementing controls, delivering training, and assessing effectiveness
  • Regulatory Monitoring & Implementation: Track regulatory changes, assess business impact, and drive timely implementation of required updates
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, implement controls, and maintain the risk register
  • Business Continuity Planning: Support and implement business continuity processes to ensure operational resilience and recovery readiness
  • Reporting & Cross-functional Execution: Maintain compliance records, prepare reports for senior management/committees, and handle ad hoc legal, compliance, and risk assignments

Candidate profile:

To succeed in this role, you will bring substantial experience in compliance functions within financial institutions or regulatory bodies.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Law, or a related field
  • Experience: At least 5 years of compliance experience within Hong Kong financial institutions, professional services, or regulatory bodies
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of KYC, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions regulations; proven experience in designing and implementing compliance and risk control frameworks
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Mandarin with strong Chinese writing skills for drafting structured policies and reports
  • Core Competencies: Self-driven, adaptable, and detail-oriented; capable of multitasking and performing effectively under pressure in team environments
