Legal counsel, family office

The success candidates will work closely with the Senior Counsel in a wide range of investment management, funds and asset management related legal and compliance matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle and draft various legal documentation
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on legal and risk
  • Work closely with internal departments, provide legal advice/ practical solutions to issues arising from daily operation
  • Co-ordinate with external parties including regulators, external counsel etc
  • Review of construction related agreements, property management agreements, account opening documentation, employment contracts and general corporate contracts
  • Communicate and liaise with vendors and external lawyers when necessary
  • Draft, review, update and implement internal policies and procedures periodically
  • Conduct legal research and organize internal training on key legal updates when necessary
  • Handle ad hoc projects or other assignments as and when required

Requirements:

  • An assertive drive and motivation for business building and client relationship building through the introduction of corporate services, trust and trust administration business, with an emphasis on prominent family trust solutions and corporate clients
  • A qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification legal experience in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction. Candidates with less experience with the right calibre will also be considered
  • Solid experience in related areas such as building management, property, litigation and disciplinary proceedings will be an advantage
  • Able to develop legal strategies for the business with the ability to analyze
  • A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
