The successful candidate will be empowered to lead the full spectrum of HR functions, from strategic workforce planning and talent acquisition to employee engagement, compensation management, and compliance. You will play a vital role in partnering with senior leadership to ensure the organisation’s human capital aligns seamlessly with its ambitious goals.

What you'll do:

As Head of Human Resources, you will be entrusted with leading the entire HR function for a dynamic organisation based in Hong Kong.

  • Develop and implement forward-thinking HR strategies that align with business objectives and promote operational efficiency across all departments.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives by ensuring optimal headcount and skills alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and senior leadership teams on HR budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition processes to attract high-calibre professionals while optimising hiring costs without compromising quality.
  • Design and implement effective onboarding programmes as well as career development and succession planning frameworks to nurture internal talent pipelines.
  • Manage the HR budget comprehensively, including payroll, benefits administration, training investments, and recruitment expenses.
  • Analyse labour cost trends regularly and recommend actionable cost-saving measures to enhance overall productivity.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through employee engagement initiatives that maximise return on investment in human capital.
  • Design competitive yet cost-effective compensation structures while ensuring pay equity and compliance with relevant labour laws.
  • Identify training needs across the organisation and implement impactful leadership development programmes that encourage continuous learning.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Human Resources in this influential role, you will bring extensive experience gained from progressively responsible positions within large-scale organisations.

  • A university degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent discipline is required for this position.
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience within human resources roles, including a minimum of 8 years in a senior leadership capacity overseeing diverse teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local labour laws, employment standards, HR best practices, and emerging talent trends within multi-national environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically with strong financial acumen for effective budgeting, forecasting, and cost management within HR functions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven experience in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and fostering positive relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Experience managing HRM functions within multi-national companies is highly desirable for this role.
  • High emotional intelligence combined with excellent people management capabilities to inspire trust and collaboration among colleagues.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English as well as Chinese (including fluent Mandarin) is essential for cross-border communication requirements.
  • Advanced PC skills with particular proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis related to workforce planning and reporting purposes.
