Newly set up family office looking for a Director responsible for treasury management and investment.

About the Group

Our client is a fast‑growing Hong Kong–based business group with a successful core operating business and expanding regional footprint. As part of its next phase of growth and wealth structuring, the Group is establishing a single‑family office to oversee proprietary investments while strengthening treasury and capital management for the operating entities.

This is a key leadership hire, working closely with the Principal and senior management, with a mandate spanning investment strategy, execution, and enterprise‑level treasury management.

About the Role

The Director will be responsible for (i) managing and growing the family’s investment portfolio and (ii) overseeing treasury, liquidity, and capital structure for the core business. This role combinesinstitutional investment discipline with hands‑on commercial judgement, suitable for a senior professional who is comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Investment & Family Office Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the family office investment strategy, aligned with the Principal’s risk appetite and long‑term objectives
  • Source, evaluate and execute investments across asset classes, which may include:
    • Private equity / private credit
    • Public markets
    • Strategic / direct investments
    • Alternative assets (as relevant)
  • Lead financial modelling, valuation, due diligence and deal structuring
  • Oversee post‑investment monitoring, performance tracking and exit planning
  • Manage relationships with external managers, banks, advisors, lawyers and fund partners
  • Establish appropriate investment governance, reporting and controls for the family office

Treasury & Capital Management (Core Business)

  • Oversee group treasury operations, including cash flow planning, liquidity management and funding needs
  • Optimise capital structure, banking facilities and financing arrangements
  • Manage FX, interest rate and counterparty risks
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and working capital optimisation in partnership with finance leadership
  • Act as a key advisor to senior management on capital allocation and strategic financial decisions

Leadership & Governance

  • Work closely with the Principal, Board and senior executives as a trusted financial and investment partner
  • Build and refine policies, processes and internal controls as the family office scales
  • Potential to build and lead a small investment / treasury teamover time

The Successful Candidate

Experience & Background

  • 12+ years of experience in investments, corporate finance, treasury, or asset management
  • Background from investment banks, buy‑side funds, family offices, or large corporates with strong treasury exposure
  • Proven track record in investment execution and capital / liquidity management
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, founders or family principals strongly preferred

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills
  • Commercial, pragmatic and hands‑on; comfortable operating without heavy infrastructure
  • High level of integrity, discretion and judgement
  • Able to balance risk management with growth and return objectives
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an advantage
