Senior Project Manager (Event & Entertainment Technology)
A global leader in event and entertainment technology seeks a Senior Project Manager in Hong Kong to lead end-to-end project delivery, managing scope, budget, and resources to deliver innovative experiences.
Key responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager – Event and Entertainment Technology, you will immerse yourself in the orchestration of complex live event projects that span engineering innovation and creative artistry.
- Lead end-to-end project management across active projects and bids, typically allocating ~85% of time to delivery, 10% to organisational improvements, and 5% to continuous learning, with ~30% travel for project support and execution
- Ensure successful delivery of project scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality standards across all deliverables
- Champion the client’s vision throughout the project lifecycle, driving high customer satisfaction and consistently exceeding expectations
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and support to ensure seamless project execution and outcomes
- Manage project communications, including internal and external status updates, reporting, stakeholder alignment, and executive-level visibility
- Oversee project financials including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, invoicing, cost control, change orders, and risk/opportunity tracking
- Lead bidding and proposal development by translating client needs into proposals, preparing estimates, pricing structures, contingencies, and contract alignment
- Drive commercial compliance, relationship management, and continuous improvement by upholding contractual obligations, protecting company interests, strengthening client partnerships, and contributing to lessons learned, organisational initiatives, and professional development
Candidate profile:
To excel in this role as Senior Project Manager, you will bring extensive experience managing complex projects within the entertainment industry or related fields such as engineering or construction management.
- High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years’ experience in entertainment, live events, or project management; OR Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Theatre, or related field with 2+ years’ relevant experience
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused, service-oriented approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project scheduling tools (MS Project, Asana)
- Experience with budgeting and data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau), ERP systems (SAP, Epicor), CRM platforms (Salesforce, Zendesk), and content management systems (SharePoint, Box, Google Drive)
- Familiarity with manufacturing or fabrication processes, plus ability to work in-office Monday–Friday and travel up to 30% to job sites
- Preferred: PMP certification, experience managing profitable projects, cost estimation, risk management, contractual/commercial responsibilities, and working in matrix organisations; familiarity with Slack is a plus
- Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing frequent movement tasks (walking, bending, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting) within material handling safety guidelines
