Mechanical Engineer (Stage & Theme Park Facility)
A global live event solutions provider seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Hong Kong Island to integrate mechanical systems for stage and theme park facilities, delivering world-class productions while collaborating on international projects in a diverse and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineer (Stage & Theme Park Facility), you will integrate mechanical systems for live productions, overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning across entertainment venues while ensuring safety and reliability.
- Coordinates integration of multiple project elements into a cohesive system and ensures successful end-to-end delivery
- Participates in installation activities on-site, supporting implementation of technology and mechanical systems for clients
- Conducts shop testing, setup, and adjustment of complex mechanical and staging components to meet specifications
- Performs assembly and disassembly of custom on-site show elements, including staging and rigging equipment
- Collaborates closely with project teams, service, and support functions, communicating progress, risks, and technical updates
- Acts as a key client contact, providing mechanical support, responding to enquiries, and ensuring high customer satisfaction
- Maintains strong knowledge of integration disciplines, contributes to internal standards, and supports project task management
- Ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures, stays organised, attends required training, and prepares equipment for deployment across venues such as theatres, theme parks, and cruise ships
Candidate profile:
Your background as a Mechanical Engineer – Stage and Theme Park Facility will showcase your proven track record in delivering high-quality engineering solutions within fast-moving entertainment environments.
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles with experience in a mechanical technician or similar role
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Basic electrical knowledge with understanding of winching and lifting systems (desirable)
- Fluent in Cantonese with working-level English proficiency; Mandarin communication skills are a plus
- Strong written communication skills and ability to work effectively in technical documentation contexts
- Willingness to work in live entertainment environments, including technical theatre settings (desirable)
- Must have right to work in Hong Kong and be available for extensive travel (up to ~100 days annually, both domestic and international)
