QA Officer (Mining equipment, Accessory)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Officer to join a leading global procurement team supporting mining equipment and accessories across Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, supplier compliance, and technical excellence across steel and hi-chrome product categories. This position offers extensive regional exposure, frequent international travel, and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative and quality-driven environment.
Key responsibilities:
As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will lead supplier quality initiatives, maintain robust quality systems, and support product conformance across a global supply chain.
- Promote and uphold a strong safety, quality, and compliance culture by adhering to company safety standards, operational procedures, and quality assurance best practices
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality assurance management systems, ensuring steel, hi-chrome, and related products meet customer requirements and ISO 9001 standards
- Establish and manage product certification, testing, and compliance processes, maintaining quality documentation and supporting accreditation initiatives where applicable
- Design and deploy supply chain quality control frameworks that safeguard product integrity across all stages of procurement, manufacturing, and delivery
- Monitor, audit, and evaluate supplier performance against quality standards, service level agreements, and key performance indicators, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement
- Provide technical expertise and support to procurement, technical, and business teams on quality assurance, supplier development, process improvements, and product quality issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop quality plans, operating standards, testing regimes, and quality procedures that align with customer expectations and business objectives
- Maintain supplier audit schedules, foster strong customer and supplier relationships, contribute to new supplier projects, and coach team members on quality system requirements while promoting company values
Candidate profile:
The ideal candidate will bring strong quality assurance experience within the steel, manufacturing, mining equipment, or related industrial sectors, combined with excellent technical knowledge and supplier management capabilities.
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Metallurgy, Quality Management, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in quality management systems, preferably within the steel, foundry, metals, or manufacturing sectors
- Strong background in steel manufacturing, metal processing, alloy casting, or related industrial operations
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality assurance programmes and processes
- Practitioner-level expertise in root cause analysis, supported by relevant certifications, training, or equivalent practical experience
- Non-destructive testing (NDT) certification or equivalent technical qualification, with experience in product inspection and quality verification
- Experience working within manufacturing environments or third-party testing facilities, with a sound understanding of quality control and compliance requirements
- Fluent in Chinese and English, with the flexibility to travel extensively across China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Korea
