A leading organisation in Hong Kong is seeking an Equity Compensation Accounting Manager to oversee share-based compensation accounting and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax rules, and regulatory requirements.

You will play a key role in managing complex equity transactions from end to end while partnering with cross-functional teams across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting, reconciliation, and disclosure of share-based compensation in financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax rules
  • Oversee end-to-end equity transactions, including grants, vesting, exercises, and cancellations, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls
  • Partner with Financial Reporting and Audit teams to support reporting cycles and audit requirements
  • Coordinate with Payroll and Tax on withholding, reporting, and financial treatment of equity events
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records of all equity-related data
  • Provide financial analysis and support for equity grant structures and compensation planning
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on equity-related financial matters

Candidate profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit, preferably within a listed or multinational environment
  • Exposure to share-based compensation accounting and disclosures
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes
  • Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional regulatory and tax considerations is advantageous
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA / CFA preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel proficiency
