Finance Officer / Accountant (Payable) - 8 months contract

A global investment management group seeks a Finance Officer / Accountant to support Asia Finance in Hong Kong with accounting, reporting, and controls.

Key responsibilities:

As a Finance Officer / Accountant, you will handle accounting, reporting, reconciliations, cash flow, and intercompany processes while supporting statutory reporting across regional teams.

• Process accounts payable including invoices, prepayments, accruals, and staff claims; prepare payments (transfers and cheques)
• Monitor daily cash inflows and outflows for cash management
• Liaise with suppliers, banks, and technical support to resolve payment and system issues
• Coordinate with overseas finance teams on intercompany cross-charges
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and certify balances in the group system
• Assist in tax provisions and monthly financial close
• Support monthly reporting, head office queries, and financial analysis for management and group reporting

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring experience in AP or finance, strong Excel and system skills, financial services exposure, and solid knowledge of reconciliations, controls, and tax processes.

• Experience in accounts payable, finance, or related administrative roles
• Understanding of approval workflows and signature authority controls
• Strong Excel and financial system proficiency with ability to adapt quickly to new tools
• Experience in financial services, ideally within matrix or investment management environments
• Proven ability to contribute effectively to projects and cross-functional initiatives
• Familiarity with systems such as Workday, financial planning/forecasting, or billing platforms (advantageous)
