What you'll do:

As a Group Assistant Finance Manager, you will play an integral role in supporting the organisation’s financial health by providing accurate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and insightful analysis.

  • Consolidate financial results and forecasts from various subsidiaries to provide comprehensive reports for senior management review.
  • Conduct detailed costing and profitability analyses as well as variance analyses to identify areas for performance enhancement across the group.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management to deliver thorough financial analysis that informs strategic initiatives and supports long-term objectives.
  • Monitor departmental costs closely, implementing effective costing analysis methods and performing regular variance reviews to drive operational improvements.
  • Prepare monthly analytical reports that evaluate both business unit and overall company performance, highlighting trends and actionable insights.
  • Manage the implementation of system-related solutions designed to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Regularly review the financial performance of all subsidiaries, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence through close monitoring.
  • Lead monthly financial simulations, quarterly forecasts, annual budget settings, as well as preparing analytical reports and handling ad hoc tasks as required by management.
  • Partner with all departments across the organisation to identify potential risks and opportunities through effective business partnering practices.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Group Assistant Finance Manager position brings substantial experience from within the manufacturing sector alongside recognised accountancy qualifications.

  • Qualified Accountant or holder of CPA/ACCA/HKICPA or equivalent degree in Accountancy or Finance is essential for this position.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry is required; candidates with Big 4 backgrounds are highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication skills in English as well as Chinese (including Cantonese & Mandarin) is necessary.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting practices in Hong Kong and mainland China is important; familiarity with tax regulations in Southeast Asia is considered advantageous.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are needed to foster effective collaboration across teams located in different regions.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude combined with advanced analytical capabilities ensures high-quality financial assessments.
  • Honesty, integrity, reliability, and a proven track record of ethical conduct are fundamental attributes sought after for this role.
  • Previous managerial experience leading finance teams is required along with a willingness to pursue further career development within the organisation.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 30% of the time between China and Vietnam is expected given the regional scope of responsibilities.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered for more junior positions such as Assistant Finance Manager or Financial Analyst.
