CFO – Commercial & Strategic Leadership | Growing Energy
A fast-growing energy and infrastructure platform in Hong Kong seeks a Chief Financial Officer. Following a recent acquisition and rapid expansion, the business has evolved into a multi-brand operator with strong presence across both B2B and emerging B2C segments.
- Newly created CFO role supporting a fast-scaling, PE-backed energy platform following recent M&A expansion
- Lead post-acquisition integration, finance transformation, and commercial partnering across B2B and growing B2C business
- High visibility role working closely with CEO and regional stakeholders within a cross-border operating environment
This role represents a critical leadership position, responsible for driving post-M&A integration, strengthening financial infrastructure, and partnering closely with the CEO to support the next phase of growth. The successful candidate will operate within a regional structure, collaborating with overseas headquarters while maintaining full ownership of the Hong Kong finance function.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic & Leadership
- Partner closely with the CEO to define and execute business and financial strategy during a period of transformation and growth
- Act as a key member of the leadership team, providing commercial insights to support decision-making
- Lead communication with shareholders and regional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader group objectives
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee full spectrum of finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Deliver timely and accurate management reporting with strong focus on performance visibility and financial discipline
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
Post-M&A Integration & Transformation
- Lead finance integration of newly acquired business units, harmonising systems, processes, and reporting structures
- Identify and drive synergies, cost optimisation, and operational efficiencies
- Build scalable finance processes to support continued business expansion
Commercial & Operational Finance
- Partner with business leaders to optimise pricing, margins, and profitability across both B2B and B2C channels
- Support data-driven decision making through enhanced FP&A capabilities and KPI tracking
- Monitor key business drivers, including cost fluctuations and revenue performance
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing finance team within a growing organisation
- Strengthen internal controls, governance, and financial processes in line with best practices
- Drive continuous improvement across systems and workflows
Candidate profile:
- Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting or related discipline, with professional qualification (CPA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a CFO / Finance Director capacity, ideally within a scaling, post-M&A or transformation environment
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to partner with business stakeholders
- Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving organisation
- Experience working within regional or cross-border structures preferred
- Prior exposure to energy, utilities, logistics, or asset-heavy industries is advantageous but not essential
