A leading fast-growing multinational platform is seeking a Financial Controller in Hong Kong to oversee financial close processes, ensure international compliance, drive process improvements, and support global operations in a tech-enabled environment.

Key responsibilities:

As Financial Controller, you will be entrusted with overseeing complex financial operations spanning multiple countries.

  • Own the end‑to‑end financial close for the global scope, ensuring accurate, timely reporting under IFRS and local GAAP in line with global standards
  • Lead balance sheet and P&L substantiation, including account reconciliations and audit documentation, with strong focus on consistency and auditability across the global team
  • Establish and enforce robust internal controls and accounting policies, aligned with group‑wide standards and global process design
  • Support group reporting and consolidation, coordinating closely with the global finance team on inter‑company reconciliations, standard accounts and segment reporting
  • Drive process improvement and automation of high‑volume accounting tasks (AP, AR, payroll, inter‑company), ensuring consistency with the global ERP and reporting framework
  • Lead audit and compliance engagements with external auditors, tax advisors and regulators, representing the entity in coordination with the global controllership function
  • Manage and mentor the global controllership team, developing capability and quality standards that align with the wider global finance team

Candidate profile:

To excel as Financial Controller in this organisation, you will bring extensive experience from large-scale multinational settings where you have managed complex financial operations underpinned by rigorous compliance standards.

  • Big 4 audit background with exposure to IFRS, internal controls and statutory audits, ideally in an MNC or listed environment
  • 10 years of controllership / senior accounting experience in a sizeable multinational or listed company, preferably as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
  • Experience in a fast‑growing platform or tech‑enabled business (e.g., marketplace, SaaS, e‑commerce, fintech)
  • Proven experience working with a global finance team, including multi‑jurisdictional reporting, consolidation and cross‑border compliance
  • Degree in Accounting / Finance; professional qualification (CPA/CA/ACCA or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Fluent English (written and verbal); Cantonese and/or Mandarin are strong advantages
