Java System Analyst, Back Office (Chinese Required, Contract)

A reputable financial institution seeks a Back Office Java System Analyst in Hong Kong to modernise post-trade settlement systems, strengthen operational resilience, and support reliable capital markets operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance mission-critical post-trade settlement systems, ensuring scalable, high-performance, and reliable back-office operations
• Deliver end-to-end software development, from system design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, QA teams, and IT partners to deliver technology solutions that support efficient and reliable settlement operations
• Drive automation and system enhancements to improve operational efficiency, platform stability, and settlement resilience
• Build and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and ongoing system reliability
• Develop cloud-native, microservices-based solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps best practices to deliver scalable enterprise applications

Candidate profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• 3–10 years’ hands-on Java application development experience, ideally within capital markets, financial services, or other regulated environments
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, GaussDB, Linux scripting, and enterprise application development
• Hands-on experience with microservices, cloud platforms (preferably HCS), Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps tools including GitLab, Jira, Nexus, JUnit, and SonarQube
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams
• Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English; Chinese language proficiency required
