Senior Java Developer (Trading)

A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior Java Developer (Trading) to drive the development and enhancement of business-critical trading platforms within a mid-to-back office environment.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of engineers while remaining hands-on with architecture, design, and development. The successful candidate will partner closely with traders, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-performance trading solutions across the full trade lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and delivery of mid-to-back trading applications and services.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, driving engineering best practices and solution quality.
Partner with trading desks and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver strategic technology enhancements.
Own end-to-end delivery across the SDLC, from solution design through production deployment and support.
Develop scalable and resilient Java applications supporting trading, order management, booking, and post-trade processing.
Drive system performance, stability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with regional and global technology teams to deliver business-critical projects.
Lead production issue investigation, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.

Candidate Profile

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
10+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on Java Sping Boots.
Proven experience leading development teams or acting as a technical lead within financial services.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, messaging technologies, and system integration.
Experience supporting trading, capital markets, or investment banking platforms.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to balance hands-on development responsibilities with technical leadership and project delivery.
