Senior Solution Architect (Insurance Life Ops)

A leading life insurance organization is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to support the ongoing transformation of its Operations technology platforms.

This role is focused on the design and delivery of end-to-end technology solutions across key Operations functions, including New Business, Policy Servicing, Claims, and Contact Center. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to define practical, scalable solutions while ensuring strong execution and system stability.

The position requires a balance of architecture capability and hands-on delivery experience, with a strong understanding of insurance operations and the ability to navigate complex environments.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as the Solution Architect for Operations platforms, partnering closely with business stakeholders to define and deliver technology solutions across New Business, Policy Servicing, Claims, and Contact Center. Translate business requirements into practical, scalable solution designs covering applications, integrations, and data flows.
• Lead end-to-end solution architecture and ensure designs meet performance, resilience, and security requirements. Maintain clear architecture documentation including solution diagrams and integration designs throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Work closely with delivery teams, vendors, and offshore resources to ensure successful implementation. Provide hands-on support during delivery, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with architectural intent.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Operations technology landscape by identifying opportunities to modernize systems through APIs, workflow tools, cloud adoption, and automation.
• Ensure stability and performance of business-critical systems, designing solutions with appropriate monitoring, availability, and recovery capabilities to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and risk teams to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements, acting as a design authority for key decisions.

Candidate profile:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in technology roles, with at least 5 years in solution architecture, technical leadership, or end-to-end delivery roles.
• Strong experience within life insurance is essential, particularly across Operations domains such as New Business, Policy Servicing, Claims, and Contact Center platforms. Experience in Hong Kong or Greater China markets is preferred.
• Solid technical background in application and integration architecture, including APIs or service-based design, with a good understanding of enterprise systems and data flows. Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure, is advantageous.
• Proven ability to deliver large-scale, business-critical systems in complex environments, working with vendors, system integrators, and offshore teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to business audiences and influence decision-making.
• Experience in transformation programmes or consulting environments is a plus. Exposure to automation or AI-related solutions in operations is beneficial but not essential.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
