Field Engineer - Data Centre Support (FS, 24x7 shift)

A leading financial institution seeks a Field Engineer (Data Centre Support) in Hong Kong to ensure reliable enterprise infrastructure operations and support business continuity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver 24x7 data centre infrastructure support through a rotating shift and on-call roster, ensuring continuous service availability and operational resilience
  • Manage end-to-end data centre operations, including server installations, decommissioning, hardware replacement, cable management, MAC activities, and technology refreshes to maintain reliable infrastructure
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise data centre systems, supporting capacity planning, maximising uptime, and driving operational efficiency through proactive improvements
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate documentation, asset records, configurations, and audit readiness
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues, share operational insights, and continuously improve data centre processes and service delivery

Candidate profile:

  • Hold a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years’ experience in data centre operations or field engineering
  • Demonstrate hands-on expertise in server installation, decommissioning, hardware replacement, cable management, troubleshooting, and supporting infrastructure changes
  • Possess experience managing enterprise data centre environments, including servers, storage, network equipment, PDUs, UPS, cooling systems, and other critical infrastructure
  • Apply strong incident management, documentation, organisational, and stakeholder collaboration skills while working effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Understand operational compliance within regulated environments, with banking or financial services exposure being advantageous, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and service excellence
  • Communicate effectively in both Cantonese and English, as proficiency in both languages is required
