MSSql DBA

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage enterprise-level databases with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability across multiple platforms.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes while proactively monitoring system health and performance to ensure optimal availability.
- Independently analyse complex technical issues as they arise, providing thorough end-to-end problem resolution for both planned and unplanned incidents.
- Deliver preventive system monitoring and maintenance support for databases and related IT systems, including performance fine-tuning, cluster planning, capacity management, backup strategies, and recovery procedures.
- Offer technical support throughout the development lifecycle to ensure all changes align with industry best practices and governance standards.
- Plan and execute seamless migrations of databases onto centralised corporate private cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in database technologies by providing regular technical updates that support various IT systems such as low-code development platforms.
- Contribute positively to team discussions by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and participating in ongoing process improvements.
Requirements:
- A university degree in computer science or related fields demonstrating foundational knowledge essential for effective database administration.
- Between four to six years of hands-on experience managing enterprise databases with particular expertise in Microsoft SQL Server; familiarity with PostgreSQL is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in configuring server environments for high availability while ensuring robust security measures are consistently applied across all systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance techniques such as performance tuning, cluster planning, capacity management, backup creation, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues under pressure while delivering comprehensive solutions that minimise downtime or data loss.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies quickly while adapting existing skills to evolving business requirements or industry trends.
- Excellent communication abilities in both written and spoken English as well as Chinese enable effective collaboration across multicultural teams.
- Flexibility regarding working hours with readiness to provide support outside standard times when necessary for deployments or urgent fixes.
- Strong interpersonal skills foster positive relationships within teams while promoting knowledge sharing and mutual support among colleagues.
