MD - Head of Program Manager (FS, Chinese Speaking must)

A leading financial institution seeks a Managing Director, Head of Programme Manager in Hong Kong to lead core banking transformation and deliver strategic change that enhances operational excellence, stakeholder alignment, and programme success.

Key responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end delivery of the country-level core banking transformation programme, ensuring successful execution from initiation to go-live while aligning with regional and global strategic objectives
• Serve as the accountable country lead for programme success, driving governance, resource planning, budgeting, risk management, and delivery against critical APAC milestones
• Lead cross-functional teams across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, vendors, and system integrators to manage complex dependencies, including data migration and legacy system integration
• Chair executive governance forums, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver strategic communications that support informed decision-making and programme alignment
• Build and lead high-performing project teams while driving change management, training, UAT, and business readiness activities to ensure successful adoption and sustainable transformation outcomes

Candidate profile:

• Extensive experience leading large-scale core banking transformation, migration, or strategic technology programmes within complex banking or financial services environments
• Strong knowledge of core banking platforms, corporate banking operations, legacy system integration, data migration, and Hong Kong regulatory requirements
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-wide programmes within matrix organisations, partnering across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and external vendors
• Expertise in programme governance, budgeting, resource planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and driving successful delivery under demanding timelines
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English; PMP, Prince2, PgMP, SAFe, or similar certifications are advantageous
