Business Analyst – Banking process and system transform

As a key contributor to our digital upgrade initiatives, you will work closely with business units, technical teams, and vendors to ensure our system enhancements meet strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include capturing detailed requirements, streamlining processes, and supporting testing and deployment activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate throughout the project lifecycle in upgrading and enhancing our legacy banking systems, engaging with various user groups.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and documentation of high-level and detailed business, technical, and non-functional requirements to accurately reflect operational needs.
  • Partner with business users and fellow analysts to evaluate current workflows, identify areas for improvement, and redesign processes aligned with modernization goals.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure shared understanding of requirements and deliverables.
  • Oversee data management and business operations across different teams and legacy systems.
  • Develop and maintain essential documentation, including business cases, process diagrams, UI/UX prototypes, and user stories to facilitate clear stakeholder communication.
  • Assist with system integration testing (SIT) by reviewing test cases, clarifying issues, and managing change requests.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test plans, coordinating testing activities, and confirming system functionality with end-users.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve system performance, address operational issues, and maximize value delivery.
  • Prepare progress reports and presentation materials to update stakeholders and senior management on project status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Contribute to user training efforts by creating manuals, delivering training sessions, and gathering feedback for ongoing enhancements.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related disciplines.
  • At least 6 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the banking, financial, or regulatory sectors.
  • Proven expertise in analyzing and re-engineering business processes and legacy systems.
  • Experience managing large-scale IT projects with multiple business and technical teams involved is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and support change initiatives.
  • Skilled in designing UI/UX mockups and process flow diagrams to clarify requirements.
  • Deep understanding of software development principles and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with analysis and project management tools such as Confluence and JIRA is advantageous.
  • Excellent report writing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese is required.
