Data Analyst (6 Months Contract, Banking, Risk & Control, 40K)

The role involves extracting and analyzing large datasets using Python and SQL to identify risks, generate insights, and assist compliance efforts. Collaboration with stakeholders and clear communication of findings are essential.

• Extract, validate, and analyze customer, risk, and transactional data from multiple systems to support risk frameworks and compliance efforts.
• Develop analytical methods to identify data patterns, indicators, and concentration risks for financial crime detection and risk management.
• Support the development and refinement of data extraction logic for analytical models, including calibration and validation against historical data.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver timely analysis and insights.

Requirements:

• Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
• At least 3 years working experience in Data related positions.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data analysis and insight generation is a MUST.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets, especially banking data such as transactions and customer info.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and data visualization tools (QlikView/Qlik Sense) is a plus.
• Project experience in banking or financial services indsutry is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills in both English and Chinese
