Facility/ Equipment Management Specialist
The Asset Management Specialist is a key role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a robust asset management system to optimize the lifecycle of diverse assets. This role blends technical asset management expertise with business analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance with ISO 55001 standards, and drive continuous improvement in asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
System Design and Implementation

Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive asset management system to support diverse asset types, ensuring scalability and alignment with organisational needs.

Design asset hierarchies, classifications, and work flows tailored to specific asset categories, optimising data structure and operational processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, integrate asset data, and establish performance monitoring frameworks.
Process Optimisation and Operational Excellence

Customise asset management processes, including acquisition, maintenance, calibration, and disposal, to enhance efficiency and support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.

Conduct gap analyses and process reviews to identify opportunities for operational improvements, driving cost efficiency and reducing asset downtime.

Develop and implement standardised procedures to streamline asset management operations and ensure consistency across diverse asset categories.
ISO 55001 Compliance

Ensure the asset management system adheres to ISO 55001 standards through regular reviews, policy development, and compliance audits.

Maintain and update asset management policies and standards to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting

Oversee the accurate capture, integration, and updating of asset data (e.g., for tools, equipment, and facilities) to support informed decision-making.

Generate actionable reports and analytic on asset utilisation, performance, maintenance schedules, and costs, providing strategic insights to optimise life cycle management.

Leverage data-driven insights to recommend process enhancements and operational strategies that minimise costs and maximise asset reliability.
System Ownership and Support

Serve as the system owner post-implementation, managing ongoing maintenance, scalability, and enhancements to meet evolving operational needs.

Provide training and technical support to end-users, ensuring effective system adoption and utilisation across teams.

Conduct periodic system performance reviews, implementing improvements to enhance functionality and user experience.
Stakeholder Collaboration

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align asset management strategies with organizational goals and industry standards.

Communicate insights, performance metrics, and recommendations to leadership and operational teams to drive strategic decision-making.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., IAM Certificate, CAMA) preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in asset management or maintenance operations, with demonstrated experience managing diverse asset categories (e.g., tools, equipment, facilities).

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of ISO 55001 standards and experience implementing asset management systems (e.g., CMMS, EAM platforms).

Business Analysis Skills: Proven ability in data analysis, process optimisation, and developing performance metrics to drive operational excellence.

Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects and delivering measurable outcomes.

Data Management: Strong skills in asset data collection, integration, and analytics, with proficiency in generating actionable insights.

Communication: Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities to collaborate with diverse teams and present strategic recommendations.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with IT systems integration, database management, and proficiency in relevant software tools.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to process improvement.

Industry Knowledge: Experience managing equipment, calibrated tools, and facilities infrastructure in a general asset management context.
