Global Manufacturing Director (Jewellery)
This role is pivotal in formulating and executing a global manufacturing strategy that aligns with the company's strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all production needs and standards are met across all manufacturing sites, including outsourced partners. They will also work closely with the New Product Development and Quality teams to establish clear global quality standards and standard operating procedures. The role would need to:
- Lead global manufacturing operations in the jewellery industry
- Formulate and execute a global manufacturing strategy
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance product quality, delivery time, and cost-effectiveness
Job Responsibilities
- Formulate, execute, and evaluate a global manufacturing strategy in line with corporate goals and strategic priorities.
- Develop and deploy global supply centres to meet business product needs.
- Identify opportunities to adopt best practices within and outside the industry for improving operations.
- Work with New Product Development and Quality team to develop clear quality standards and standard operating procedures.
- Create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure productivity through effective production planning including deployment of people, materials, facilities based on demand forecasts.
- Lead, train, motivate the workforce to achieve high level of productivity.
- Collect, analyze, evaluate manufacturing performance data to identify key problems.
- Work with Research and Development teams to assess innovative technologies, materials for opportunities.
- Monitor closely the data on gold loss, establish control measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management or related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of all-rounded manufacturing operation experience in the jewellery industry.
- Experience independently managing multiple production plants.
- Experience with supplier management system and outsourced manufacturing on a global basis.
- Proven track record in developing consistent quality and management systems across multiple manufacturing sites.
- High proficiency level in written and spoken English; command of Chinese language (both Mandarin and Cantonese) preferable.
- Experience applying quality management systems such as TQM, lean, BPR or six sigma.
- Expert knowledge of jewellery manufacturing best practices and state-of-the-art technologies.
- Strong analytical thinking capability.
- Strong leadership skills and team player.
