A leading logistics provider seeks a Seafreight Procurement Manager in Hong Kong to drive ocean freight procurement transformation, optimise global carrier strategies, and deliver lasting supply chain value.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead ocean freight procurement across key trade lanes in the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent, driving competitive pricing strategies and commercial success
  • Own RFQs, tenders, and service contracts, delivering compelling commercial proposals while optimising supplier agreements for maximum business value
  • Build strategic partnerships with carriers, overseas agents, and vendors, negotiating favourable rates and commercial terms to enhance profitability and service excellence
  • Resolve complex carrier and consolidator issues as the key escalation point, ensuring operational continuity, service reliability, and customer satisfaction
  • Drive commercial performance by analysing FCL pricing trends and monitoring key KPIs, including volume, gross margin, TEU, and MQC compliance, to support informed business decisions
  • Expand ocean freight capabilities by developing consolidation solutions and strengthening carrier networks to improve operational efficiency and support long-term business growth

Candidate profile:

  • 6–8 years’ experience in carrier management, ocean freight procurement, or commercial roles within the logistics or freight forwarding industry
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations
  • Work confidently across cross-functional teams, collaborating with sales, operations, carriers, agents, and vendors to deliver commercial and operational outcomes
  • Apply strong commercial acumen in carrier negotiations, contract management, pricing strategies, and market analysis to drive business performance
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail, organisation, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
