Legal Manager - Asset Manager

An asset management organisation seeks a sharp Legal Manager to strengthen regulatory compliance and legal governance, enabling secure growth and operational excellence across Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities:

• Partner with front, middle, and back office teams to provide legal and compliance advice, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting business objectives
• Lead legal research and compliance assessments, delivering practical solutions that mitigate risk and enable informed decision-making
• Own the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of commercial agreements, protecting the organisation’s legal and commercial interests
• Collaborate with group legal, compliance, and external counsel on cross-border matters, regulatory requirements, and strategic initiatives
• Monitor regulatory developments, oversee legal due diligence, maintain governance frameworks, and support enterprise-wide compliance programmes

Candidate profile:

• Qualified lawyer with a degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous
• 3+ years’ legal and compliance experience within law firms, asset management firms, or financial institutions
• Strong knowledge of capital markets, financial products, and Hong Kong securities regulations
• Hands-on experience with SFO, SFC Code of Conduct, and HKEX rules; exposure to CSRC or cross-border regulations is an advantage
• Fluent in Mandarin, English, and Cantonese, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset
