What you'll do:

As Senior Manager Training and Development Retail you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning culture of a prominent retail organisation in Hong Kong.

  • Take responsibility for the full spectrum of training and development functions including planning, structuring, budgeting, and logistics for all programmes across the retail business.
  • Identify organisational training needs by collaborating with key stakeholders and develop tailored training solutions that reflect corporate vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Formulate, review, and update policies and procedures related to the Training & Development function to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Deliver a variety of soft skills training sessions such as leadership development, management workshops, consultative selling techniques, and customer service excellence.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of various training programmes including Supervisory Training, Corporate Training, Management Training Programme, and recommend improvements based on feedback and data analysis.
  • Liaise with external training consultants to organise bespoke training projects that enhance employee engagement and performance.
  • Design engaging face-to-face and digital training programmes that cater to diverse learning styles within the retail workforce.
  • Develop e-learning content and implement digital learning strategies that support continuous professional development across all levels of staff.
  • Oversee learning systems administration including Learning Management System (LMS) operations, reporting on participation rates, completion statistics, and programme outcomes.
  • Support corporate events and projects by providing expertise in event management and facilitating relevant training activities.

What you bring:

To excel as Senior Manager Training and Development Retail you should bring extensive experience from large-scale service or retail environments where you have led people development functions at managerial level.

  • Degree holder in Training, Human Resource Management, Business Management or related disciplines is required for this position.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ solid experience in training within the service or retail industry gained from sizable corporations is essential.
  • At least 5 years at managerial level overseeing large-scale people development initiatives is necessary.
  • Ability to assume a strategic role while maintaining hands-on involvement in delivering soft skills training programmes such as leadership development is crucial.
  • Experience handling corporate events or supporting major organisational projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills are needed for presenting complex ideas clearly across diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities are vital for building trustful relationships with colleagues at all levels within the business.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English as well as Chinese is mandatory for effective cross-cultural communication.
  • Presentable demeanour combined with proactive approach ensures successful facilitation of workshops and meetings.
  • Analytical mindset enables you to evaluate programme effectiveness using data-driven insights.
